GENERAL QUESTIONS
Q. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE? A. The CMS is open to any professional photographer who resides in the United States and Canada.
Q. WHO CAN ENTER? A. Kids age birth-18 years who reside in the United States and Canada.
Q. WHAT ARE THE DATES OF THE CMS? A. Photographers may register for the event beginning October 1, 2010. Images can be taken and entered beginning January 1, 2011 through March 31, 2011 at 11:59 pm MDT. Voting will conclude on April 5, 2011 at 11:59 pm MDT. Finalists will move into the final judging round on April 6, 2011, and the winner will be announced May 1, 2011.
Q. HOW DOES A CHILD ENTER THE CMS? A. The CMS is open to all children 0-18 years, residing in the United States and Canada. All entries MUST be submitted by a participating professional photographer. Families may not submit their own entries.
Q. CAN I SUBMIT AN IMAGE THAT WAS TAKEN PRIOR TO JANUARY 1, 2011? A. No, all images MUST be taken on or after January 1, 2011. Images taken prior to this time are not eligible.
Q. HOW WILL THE WINNER BE DETERMINED? A. This year the competition is divided into regions, which are determined by the state the photographer resides in. The Regional Finalists will be selected based solely on votes received. Votes can be placed in two ways. Votes may be purchased for $1 per vote with no limit to the number of votes that can be cast at one time. Each registered visitor to the gallery will be given 1 free vote and may cast their vote for any entry. This will allow entrants to accumulate both purchased votes and free votes. The top 5 children with the most purchased votes in each region when voting closes, will move on to the final judging round. Additionally, the top 5 children with the most free votes in each region when voting closes, will also move on to the final judging round. The final judging round will have the top 25 purchased vote entries and the top 25 free vote entries for a total of 50 finalists. Each image will be judged on the theme: “The Cutest Kid”. The winner will be selected by a panel of judges made up of photography and modeling industry experts.
